Pools or Volumes presented from Storage to Hyper-V Hosts

Hi all,

I need an help from experts out there. What's the best option to present volumes to 2 Hyper-V Cluster?

Present each volume from storage "equal" to each VM,

or create a volume with the same size of "disk group/pool" and put all vhdx from several vms inside that major volume?

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for posting your query in HPE Community portal.

It totally depends on what kind of storage you have in terms of I/O performace, If you have less number of VM's then its a good idea to create a disk group. If the number of VM's are high then divide it between multiple volumes depending upon the load.

Once that's done , run Microsoft's own best practise analyzer to review your configuration

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/virtualization/hyper-v/best-practices-analyzer/best-practices-analyzer-for-hyper-v

Hope this helps !
