Maintenance mode?
I don't want to get notified every time I take down a server for maintenance. Is there an "easy" way to prevent CIM from generating notifications on particular servers without constructing an event query to run only against specific list of servers? I've got a couple hundred, and this would be a serious pain to administer...
Thx

Re: Maintenance mode?
No, there is no easy way. You've got to make query's. I've got the same problem. What you can do is schedule a reboot of a server. Then you make a task that will not send a notification at that time.
I've got the same problem, and I have done that.

Re: Maintenance mode?
Actually, I found out a way that might work.
In the event query, you select the "exclusion" tab and check the "by device name" box. Don't seelct any servers right away, but save the query. Any time you are going to do maintenance on a server, you just quickly edit the query, click on the "devices by name" link in the query description and check the server name. Save the query. The whole process takes less than 30 seconds. When you're finished, just edit the query and remove the server from the exclusion list.

Re: Maintenance mode?
OK, that's a way. But on this way you must always know when someone reboot a server. Or you must inform your colleagues to do the same you do.
