Problem adding devices after deleting them
Hello,
I have found a strange problem since upgrading our CIM 7 install to SP1. When verifying our server list, I noticed some servers had the wrong names - this was because there was duplicate DNS entries for the server's IP address. Upon cleaning up DNS, I deleted the servers from the CIM console and ran the autodiscovery. It discovered them (according to the event log), but they do not appear in the device list (the unknown servers row/column was incremented but when I click on it nothing is displayed, and I checked for the name and IP address under the all device list and it is definitely not showing up). If I go to edit devices and enter the server name, it pulls up the information and everything is correct. I cannot try deleting and adding them again since it will not show up in the device list. Any ideas how to get CIM to communicate with these servers again and get them back into the device list?
Thanks,
Matthew Obermeyer

Re: Problem adding devices after deleting them
I've the same problem.
Curious about the outcome.
I intend to stop/sart the SQL server at next opportunity (but it's a production system ...mmhhmm)

Re: Problem adding devices after deleting them
I have the same problem - I'm about to just delete the install, and rediscover from scratch - I notice no one has posted an answer to your problem!
