Re: SNMP String change for CIM

You can change the SNMP settings on one of your servers, then create a new group configuration task. Use the server you changed the SNMP settings on as you template then press next. If you drill down through Insight Management Agents - SNMP Security... you should be able to find the settings you want to replicate. Click next and select the query you want to configure for example "all servers". Schedule the task or run it immediately. Check the log to see if all the servers were successfully configured.

Hope this helps.

Re: SNMP String change for CIM

I'm not sure if SNMP is checked or unchecked as default. I have mine enabled that is for sure. With it unchecked, you won't be receiving any SNMP events.

Re: SNMP String change for CIM

In Insight Manager, when the Identification task runs, it determines whether the device responds to a SNMP request. If it doesn't, then we set the flag to "0" - not SNMP enabled. This can happen if the agents/SNMP is not installed on a server, OR the Insight Manager 7 server does not have the correct community string to talk to the device. If the community string is incorrect in IM7, you can drill down on the device page (from a query) for the device and there is a link in the bottom left corner to change the SNMP Community Strings for that one device only.
