cmahostd failed

I have a Proliant BL460c Gen9 running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.10.0-957.12.2.el7.x86_64. cmahostd continues to fail when restarting hp-snmp-agents. hp-snmp-agents-10.90-2995.4.rhel7x86_64 is installed. Searching through /var/log/messages I find this error message:

kernel: cmahostd: segfault at 10 ip ... error 4 in libcmacommon64.so.1.0 ...

When running ./hp-snmp-agents restart I recieve:

cmahostd is dead ... failed

A core dump is created and the command that creates the dump according to gdb, is:

cmahostd -p 15 -s OK -l /var/log/hp-snmp-agents/cma.log

When I downgrade hp-snmp-agents to hp-snmp-agents-10.60-2936.31.rhel7.x86_64, cmahostd is working correctly. I have tried restarting hp-health hp-ams and hp-snmp-agents as well as deleting /var/spool/compaq hpasm/registry. Any help would be appreciated. -Thanks

Re: cmahostd failed

Hello There,

Since this is a Gen9 server wich has a ILO4 or higher you don't need the SNMP agents just the AMS agent and you need to configure the ILO to send events to you monitoring system, SIm or Oneview.

Only ILO3 and below still need the SNMP agents.

Kind regards,

Andrew
