cpqsrhmo.exe at 99% CPU utilization in SIM 5.3

I am not sure what happened but for about 24 hours straight the cpqsrhom.exe process has my CPU pegged at 99%. Rebooting has not helped. If I kill the process it will eventually come back and spike the CPU.

It looks like it has something to do with the Version Control Repository which is running on the same server as SIM.

Any ideas?

make sure to upgrade VCRM to the latest version(6.1.0.841)

There was similer problem in older VCRM due to some components in repository, which is fixed in recent versions.

Re: cpqsrhmo.exe at 99% CPU utilization in SIM 5.3

Hello Dave,

I have had similar problems on one of my VCRM servers. Verify the following steps:
1. check for the latest version of VCRM.
2. check with VCRM-GUI that your manager shows you the available PSP's and that all PSP's are OK.
3. use a disk explorer, go to the repository directory, sort the contents by size and check if you have PSP's in that directory.
4. if you see unpacked PSP's, then move them to a different directory.
4. restart the VCRM process.
5. if that will not fix the probem and you have a uge number of files inside the reporsitory directory (~5-6GB), then delete unnecessary PSP's.
6. if that will also not fix the problem, then stop the VCRM server, delete all contents of the repository directory and restart the the VCRM process. Wait till the VCRM server is ready with reading the reprository directory and will show you no more PSP's in the VCRM GUI.
7. move the PSP's, you have saved in a different directory in step 4, to the repository directory and use the VCRM GUI to upload the PSP's.
8. keep the reporsitoy directory small of size. Delete unnecessary components or old unneeded PSP's.

All these steps helped me the get a running VCRM.

Best regards

Bernd
