Folks,
I can't get HPSIM 5 to install. When I get prompted for Service Account Credentials, I notice that the username field is grayed out (and has the name LocalSystem). The Domain field is also grayed out.
The only field which is not grayed out is the password, but none of the admin passwords I use worked.
HELP!!!

Re: HPSIM 5 installation failing
I thought that as well, but that is not what it is doing. This is happening during the portion of the install that is doing the PMP installation. It gray out the user name and domain, but it does not use the currently logged in user name in my case it uses the administrator account and then uses the domain that my user account is assigned to.
This would be a problem, because it is basically asking for the Domain Administrator account and that is not going to happen.
Additionally, this happens when I am doing an upgraded from SIM 4.2 SP2 to SIM 5.0. Sounds like others are having this problem as well.

Re: HPSIM 5 installation failing
Actually, in my case, the problem was related to the way HP SIM was configured to start its service. I had forgotten that the HP SIM service was setup to run using the Local System account, instead of a regular users.
As soon as I assigned a user account, the install worked w/o problems.
Thanks for your reply.
