HPSIM 7.2.2 discover Gen8 blade through iLO4 only displays serialnumber

Hi!

When I try to discover Gen8 through iLO4 in a HPSIM version 7.2.2 I almost always get only serialnumber instead of servername. In iLO4 the servername is displayed correct. The server running ESXi 5.5 based on HP:s bundle image with AMS preinstalled.

I have configured iLO4 for Agentless Management. When I discover iLO4 in SIM all credential is correct.

I have found a simular problem here:

Is it also applicable on 7.2.2??

And is it on the server or iLO4 you should remove the FQDN.

The FQDN should be caputed through the Agentless Managment Service "AMS" running on the ESXi server. This is installed by default if you are using HP image but can also be added to a vmaware image. This can be downloaded from HP.

To check the service

To start or stop Agentless Management Service, use the command appropriate for your environment:

• VMware ESX 4.1U2 Classic:

– /etc/init.d/hp-ams [start | stop | restart | status]

• VMware ESXi 4.1U2:

– /usr/sbin/hp-ams.sh [start | stop | restart | status]

• VMware ESXi 5.x:

– /etc/init.d/hp-ams.sh [start | stop | restart | status]
