I have recently installed HPSIM, and am having problems getting through on what would appear to be the 'trust' issue. I have IM agents on my CMS and can only discover it through ping.
When I go to the links tab and try and click things like Configuration History Reports or Version Control Agengt I get redirected to the System Management Home page for MyServer asking for the administrator login - when I provide it, it nearly instantaneously fails with a page 'Your login attempt was rejected' - I have verified that I am using the right administrator password.
To add to the mix, I have also discovered other servers that have the IM agents on them and gotten further with the discovery process and recognizing those agents - but still run into this 'trust' screen.
I have 'validated' the certificates - as I have read/figured out - but am uncertain to as what to do next.
Another point of information is that I ran the HPSIM install not as administrator, but as a user openv that belongs to the local administrator group - not sure if that is the issue?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Joe

SolutionPlease remember that when the agents are prompting for an administrator password, it is its own built-in account and is not related to the OS 'administrator' account...

Re: HPSIM, trust, and a login page asking for admin password
I appreciate your response, let me make sure I understand your most pertinent point - the CPQ agents have their 'own' admin account that is not tied to the OS Administrator account, and so it my perception of it being confused about my entering the 'correct' password, is really me trying to talk to the wrong 'administrator'.
I have found the documentation Networking and Security in the admin manual and I am going to review that before I proceed.
Thanks
Joe
