Performance Management Pack

I am having a major nightmare trying to use the Performance Management Pack that comes as default with HPSIM version 5.0 SP3.

Whenever I click on the Options Menu then Performance Management Pack Options then Configuration - it brings up a seperate Window which says "System Management Homepage for server10" ( note server10 is the name of this server which HPSIM is installed on).

An error is displayed saying "Authorization required"

Please can someone help with this ? I am logged onto the HPSIM with the administrator account so I dont understand what is going on ?

Also I believe that HP dont offer any support for HPSIM under a servers care pack agreement - is this true ?

Thanks
Ben

Re: Performance Management Pack

Hi Ben,

SMH (System Management Homepage) is validating your login credential on CMS (server10, where HPSIM is installed). Please enter same username/password, with which your entering into HPSIM (in your case, administrator account) & it'll start functioning normally.

Thanks,

Re: Performance Management Pack

Thanks for your reply.

When I click on the Performance Mgt Pack link it opens a new window and doesnt prompt me for a password. When I do this I am logged onto the CMS with the HP administrator password.

Also I have reported this to HP Support and they asked me to restart the HP Performance Service - but I dont have this service on the server.

Re: Performance Management Pack

Hi Ben,

I think this problem is due to the PMP service, which is not responding properly. So, can you restart that and check again ?

Thanks,

Re: Performance Management Pack

Sorry this is exactly my problem - I dont have a PMP Service and have never had one ??

Does this mean the install was faulty - if so how do I correct this ?

Thanks

Re: Performance Management Pack

If you have Options -> Performance Management Pack Options -> Configuration enabled in your menu structure, you must have PMP installed on your system, along with HPSIM. And you must have:

- HP Performance Management Pack
- HP PMP Tools

services running on your system. Please check that again.

Unavailibilty of these services means, your installation is not clean. You can reinstall PMP after uninstalling it completely.

Thanks,
