Remote Hardware Monitoring on DL185g5 Server
We have sold one DL185g5 Server, customer is facing a issue as to they need HP SIM on this server for the hardware monitoring.
I have two questions :
1. Is there any way we can have HP SIM (system Insite Manager) on DL185g5 storage server.
2. If not than can by any other third party software we can achieve the Hardware Monitoring capability in this server.
An early help will be highly appreciated.

Re: Remote Hardware Monitoring on DL185g5 Server
The DL1xx series don't have the ability to install the HP Agents which the larger models do so you can't monitor for hardware faults of the infrastructure with HPSIM.
You wouldn't install HPSIM on a server like this, HPSIM itself would usually be installed elsewhere and this server would be monitored.
You can check out the All In One Storage manager to see if can send out SNMP Traps, in which case these could be sent to HPSIM, but a quick look suggests it only does e-mail / page.
I doubt you'll find 3rd party S/W as it's teh agents you need that keep an eye on the H/W.

Re: Remote Hardware Monitoring on DL185g5 Server
As Rob said, DL1xx (intentionally) don't support the level of monitoring available in the higher classes (DL3xx or above).
That being said, you can probably get a very good amount of information by installing the WMI Mapper and using the WBEM interface. Windows itself does report at least standard information, although it won't include the HP extensions of critical thresholds, etc.
