Re: Scheduled Tasks & Automatic Event Handling help needed.
OK,
SO we know that traps are being received but you now need to generate the trap for the failed disk again. Go to the server with the failed disk and restart the HP Foundations Agents service. This should resend the trap if the disk is still failed. See if it is received.

Re: Scheduled Tasks & Automatic Event Handling help needed.
I have done this, but no alert is being received??
Very odd..?
I am awaiting another failure to see if any other servers are alerting..?
My Polling (reachable/unreachable) is working ok now.

Re: Scheduled Tasks & Automatic Event Handling help needed.
OK,
Do the following on a test server:
- Pull a hard disk form the array
- See if an event has been logged in the local event viewer
- Monitor the network on that server to see if the trap is being sent to the SIM server
I am assuming that you have the traps/communities setup correctly on the server(s).

Re: Scheduled Tasks & Automatic Event Handling help needed.
Still need to test, but it looks like my HP Insight Event niotifier Service was not started and would not start.
event error 7024.
i found a cure for this -
Navigate to %systemroot%\system32\CIMntfy\
Right click on lwconfig.exe and run as Administrator.
Configure with a valid smtp server.
The service is now running and I am awaiting an influx of alerts ;)
If this works that would be good....

Re: Scheduled Tasks & Automatic Event Handling help needed.
I think that service is legacy. Main thing to do is find if the event is in the event log and if its being sent out on the wire.
