SIM 4.2 - Upgrading OS from 2003 to 2003SP1

I have SIM 4.2 running on Windows Server 2003. I want to upgrade the OS to 2003 SP1.
Can you think of any reason this will effect SIM?
Has anyone had problems with SIM 4.2 after upgrading the OS on the SIM server?

From what version are you in now for the 4.2?

Sorry, I should have stated that the OS is currently 2003, no SP. My intention is to install SP1.

I haven't see anything like that, you should upgrade sim to HP SIM 5.1, it more feature that are interestin like CW(Contract Waranty) and you should see any trouble with DST.

HPSIM 4.2 is very old.
If there are issues there would be few options available to help resolve the issue.
You may want to review moving to HPSIM 5.1 SP1.

Yeah Rob is right. Help will be hard for 4.2 since the majority of us bit the bullet and went with 5.1 sp1 for the enhanced features.

If you ever call hp for support they will exactly the same thing:''MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS UP TO DATE, HP Insight,HP Agent,bla bla...''

Somewhere along the line I installed 2003 SP1 but I don't remember which version of Sims I was running. I had no problem with SIM when I installed the server SP.

They reason behind traying to stay up to date is to remove problem for a previus version, and sometimes they add to it (lolll),but in most times they don't, i have seen somebodies stayed to long behind , later he had to go from version server mgmt (Insight Manager 7)to upgrade to HP Insight version 4 sp1,woww what fun he had,he had to do is all server and the time he lost behind to trying to resolve the problem he created is long waited upgrade and then redoo is server...ouff.

I'm not in as bad a shape as all these post would indicate. Instead of upgrading my 4.2 SIM server I built a new 5.1 SIM server and have been moving my clients over to it.

I just wanted to install SP1 on the old SIM server's OS since that's the minimum for MS support. It's just taking a little longer than I expected to get all the clients moved.
