SIM Reports showing multiple entries for servers
I was wondering if anyone has seen this before...
I have been trying to run reports from SIM to show all Servers, their OS, etc. The report runs fine, however, I have multiple entries for some of my servers. Some of the entries show the same OS and some show two different OSs. I even have one server listed 3 times. Twice as Windows Server 2003 and once as Window 2000.
We have done some sever replacement in the past...NT4 and Win2k with Win2003 servers. These new servers have the same name as the old servers. We always delete the old server from SIM and let it discover the new server once we replace them. One would think that would remove all of the old information from SIM.
How do I get an accurate and up-to-date report?
BTW: I am running my report from the "All Servers" list.
Thanks in advance.
Steve

Re: SIM Reports showing multiple entries for servers
SIM 4.1 had this problem but most of the duplicate server reporting has been fixed in SIM 4.2

Re: SIM Reports showing multiple entries for servers
I recently upgraded from 4.1 to 4.2 SP1. Would I need to do a clean install to fix this issue? I'd really hate to have to do that.
Thanks again,
Steve

No, I think all you should need to do it run the Bi-Weekly data collection task.
