SIM4.1 and other MSDE applications

Is it possible to install SIM on the same server that has another MSDE application installed?
Backup Exec also uses MSDE, and I would like to install SIM4.1. I am having the same problems as detailed in other messages regarding installing 4.1, in that I can not connect to the local database server. Has anybody got this working?

It is possible, as long as the MSDE server is MSDE 2000 SP3.

Furthermore, the MSDE installation must use Windows Authentication, not SQL Authentication.
