Unable to install HP systems insight manager

When installing HP SIM I get the error: HP systems insight manager was unable to create the hp systems insight manager database.

Then the install ends saying it couldn't create the database.

Any Ideas?

I have uninstalled in reinstalled 3 times now.

Make sure that the account you are installing has full rights to the SQL Server DATA folder where database are going to be created. As well the account will require full database creation and admin rights to SQL Server.

Specifically you'll find this problem if you are installing to a SQL Server running on Windows Server 2003 because the directory security rights are much more restrictive than Windows 2000.

If you are still having problems, yu should also be able to check your SQL Logs for errors about database creation, hopefully that might give you more clues as to what the problem might be. I'd really lean to it being a permission problem, either on the folder or in SQL Server itself.

I installed on win xp pro SP1 and the local MSDE database. It wouldn't work.

So I uninstalled everything, installed IM 7 using the local MSDE database. And it works fine.

Go figure.

I have the same problem. Installing it as the Machine Admin. Any ideas.
