Version Control Agent install on systems with HP agents installed

I have 30 or so servers with the HP agents already installed but have been having to go to each and configure the VC agents. Is there any way to do this through SIM 4.2 (push the VC agents with the correct settings out to these systems that already have the agenst installed)?

You don't mention what settings you have to configure.

You can push the Agent settings to existing agents using the Configure / Replicate Agent Settings option from HPSIM.

You'll need a Server that has been configured correctly as the template. Those settings can then be deployed, including Reference Pack information. Careful with that as the OS will need to be the same on target and destination Servers.

The VC Agent is what I need to configure, this was never setup on a lot of our servers and now it has to be configured to point to the repository server. Is there a way to just push the VCA settings out to these 30 boxes?

Yes as described in the previous answer.

You need to configure at least one agent correctly.

Then from HPSIM, use the Configure Tab, and select Replicate Agent Settings.

You Select the Target Servers, say all Windows 2003 Servers. Then select the Source Server, e.g. the one that has been correctly configured.
All of the items that can be configured in the Agent can be replicated to other Servers.

This will configure the Agents already deployed.
If you wanted to re-deploy the Agents you'd need to configure the Agent and then use the Deploy Tab and select the Install Software and Firmware and then select the VCA.
All agents can be configured either via the VCRM, or running Setip.EXE from the Support Pack, which fires up the RDU. It also allows config of the agents.
