16 GB HBA on 380 Gen 11 servers
Does any one tried 16GB HBA on Gen 11 servers.
Since the MSA only support 16GB speed on Fiber channel ctrl, there is no point in buying 32GB FC HBA alone with Gen11 servers.
thanks in advance

Re: 16 GB HBA on 380 Gen 11 servers
Hi @sushil_P ,
As per the DL380 Gen11 Server quickspecs, 16GB FC HBA won't support on Gen11 servers. Hence, I believe, 16GB FC HBA won't work.
Supporting FC HBAs on DL380 Gen11:
If the controller is MR controller, I believe, it supports 32GB onwards.

Re: 16 GB HBA on 380 Gen 11 servers
YES, you are correct, i also noticed
but, the MSA Storage only suported 16G speed as of now, what is the justification to customer
who buy 32GB HBA along with G11 server.
the customer has 16Gb cards removed from G9 servers. They want to protect their inventments..

Hi @sushil_P ,
As I know, Gen11 server won't support 16GB FC HBA. Suggest you to contact HPE Support.
