It’s here! What you need to know about HPE OneView 7.0
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) continues to innovate and bring new capabilities to their compute management portfolio. HPE is pleased to release HPE OneView 7.0, the latest in HPE integrated IT infrastructure management software to further automate IT operations and simplify Infrastructure lifecycle management across compute, storage, and networking.
Support update
HPEs previous software release, HPE OneView 6.6, had an update to the supported hardware such as server platforms, network, and storage devices. The long-term support (LTS) hardware platforms1 in HPE OneView 6.6 will be removed from the latest HPE OneView 7.0 release.
So what does this mean?
HPE OneView will no longer support the following products and servers: HPE ProLiant BladeSystem c-Class, StoreVirtual storage, BNA, Synergy Arista switch integration, and HPE ProLiant Gen6/Gen7. The depreciation of c-Class, Gen6, Gen7 and Superdome X are virtual machine appliances only.
The depreciation of these hardware systems and solutions will enable HPE to focus on creating new features and capabilities to better support your business requirements.
Migration update
HPE OneView 7.0 provides a seamless migration experience from HPE OneView 6.6. This migration capability enables customers to migrate the supported servers - without disruption - from HPE OneView 6.6 to HPE OneView 7.0. Additionally, customers will be able to re-balance the number of servers across multiple 7.0 appliances or simplify the server management by appliance consolidation.
The migration capability will support the successful migration of Gen8 and later rackmount HPE ProLiant servers and HPE Apollo systems and their associated servers profiles to HPE OneView 7.0 from version 6.6 LTS.
Redesigned hardware page view
The hardware page (Figure 1) has been redesigned to provide quick access to device inventory and utilization information.
Identify connectivity issues
Easily identify 100G virtual connect connectivity issues with this new feature. Customers will be able to quickly understand why a profile connection is not operating properly by performing needed checks, identifying issues, and providing a resolution.
