Creating value for HPE Oracle Linux, Oracle VM and Oracle Solaris Customers

Customers have been deploying Oracle software on Hewlett Packard Enterprise hardware for years.  Though reasons may vary, most deploy Oracle software on Hewlett Packard Enterprise hardware because they want best-in-class cost, performance, and reliability.

In October, Oracle released two Oracle Validated Configurations running Oracle 12c on ProLiant DL380 Gen9 servers and 3PAR storage: Oracle Linux 7 and Oracle VM 3.3.  HPE and Oracle take out a bit of the guess work by doing the testing for you so you can feel confident using or leveraging these validated configurations for your environment.

HPE also recently expanded support for Oracle VM certified servers.  To see which servers are supported, check out HPE’s Oracle Linux support matrix or minimum support matrix.

And in October, HPE updated the valuable HP ProLiant storage and network controller guidelines for Oracle Linux technical whitepaper that provides helpful information on tested Driver/Firmware Pairings for Oracle Linux.

Finally, HPE supports Oracle Solaris 11.1 and 11.2 on the BL460c, DL360, and DL380Gen9 with the Support Bundle 2015.05.0 (released in July) and on the DL560, DL580, and BL660 Gen9 with the Support Bundle 2015.7.0 (released in September).  The Support Bundle includes health, management, and agents consolidating the previous out of box driver with the firmware release in one bundle.
