Re: MC/SG configuration with MSA1000 HUB 2/3 configuration
This hardware is compatible with MC/SG.
A firmware update may be required to have two systems connect to it at the same time and see storage.

Re: MC/SG configuration with MSA1000 HUB 2/3 configuration
What you mean for upgrade the firmware ?
And what is the purpose of upgrading the firmware.
Because I only using 1 MSA1000 with one controller and 1 FC controller HUB 2/3 in this configuration.
Do I need to upgrade the MSA1000 firmware or the server firmware ?
And why each time one server reboot it always give the error message that seems the connection of the FC had been disconnected from the other server ?
Thanks

SolutionThe MSA1000 is supported with Serviceguard and SGeRAC A.11.15 or later on HP-UX 11i v1, 11i v2 and 11i v3.
It is not supported with VxVM 3.5, CVM 3.5, VxVM 4.1, CVM 4.1, CFS 4.1, VxVM 5.0, CVM 5.0 or CFS 5.0.
For HA use, the MSA1000 requires the use of either the add-on 8 port Fibre Channel switch, the add-on 3 port Fibre Channel hub or an external Fibre Channel switch.
It is supported for direct connection for up to 7 nodes with the add-on 8-port Fibre Channel switch and up to 16 nodes using external Fibre Channel switches.
It is supported for direct connection for up to 2 nodes with the add-on 3-port Fibre Channel hub and up to 16 nodes using external Fibre Channel switches.
It is not supported with external Fibre Channel hubs.
It is supported only for Single Controller MSA1000 configurations.
High availability configurations require 2 MSA1000 arrays with data mirrored between the arrays using software mirroring with MirrorDisk/UX. (This is due to the single controller requirement above). Shared LVM configurations are limited to 2 nodes, due to the 2 node maximum for mirroring with MirrorDisk/UX.
