Relocatable IP Address configuration

Hello,
I am running ServiceGuard 11.18 on RedHat 5.3 64bit HP Proliant Blades - (BL685c). I have a 2 node cluster up and running with 20 shared LUNS from an EVA 8100.
I have 4 NIC's on each node with 2 in each bonded interface; bond0 & bond1.
My questing is how should the bonded interfaces be configured for the relocatable package IP? The only way I have been able to make it work is to add an alias interface bond0:1 on both nodes with the package IP, but then there is the problem of duplicate IP's.

There is no mention in the Manual about where the package IP should be set on the OS, it only appears in the package config file, but the package won't start unless the bond has the address.

Re: Relocatable IP Address configuration

Shalom,

You are correct. The only place to do a relocatable IP address is in the package control script. Normally the floating IP address is hard coded in there.

Re: Relocatable IP Address configuration

OK, that makes sense, I removed the bond0:1 interfaces I created and restarted the cluster and now it works! It's creating the subinterface on it's own on whichever node has the package. I'm not sure what fixed it as I have been working on this for a few days, but thanks!
