HPE SimpliVity backup and archive node is now available!

SimpliVity-archive-node-now-available.jpgAt HPE Discover in June, HPE announced a new hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solution – the HPE SimpliVity backup and archive node – an innovative hybrid flash storage option for scalability, backup, and data archiving. The new HCI node is now available to order.

Every hyperconverged infrastructure needs backup and archiving to limit data loss. When that function is built into HCI — as it is in every HPE SimpliVity solution — customers get end-to-end data protection in a compact form factor. While all-flash models are ideal for managing and protecting customer data, hybrid flash storage (which combines SSD and HDD storage) can be a better cost fit, particularly for longer term backups and archiving.

Hyperconverged model designed to protect second tier data

IT organizations looking for a simple, cost-effective solution to backup and recover large amounts of data can now deploy the HPE SimpliVity 380 backup and archive node. The newest member of the HPE SimpliVity portfolio is particularly suited to multi-site and ROBO environments that may not have IT staff onsite to manage and protect second tier data. The HCI node provides all the benefits of HPE SimpliVity, including guaranteed hyper-availability and the ability to backup and restore 1 TB VM in 60 seconds in a virtualized environment.

This announcement is good news for IT organizations that have data to protect in multiple sites such as Land O’Lakes. The Minnesota-based agribusiness and food company recently needed to grow and modernize their IT environment. They chose HPE SimpliVity to help optimize their remote sites and the central data center where all their backups are sent. Solutions Architect Jason Nord states, “The best way to effect this transition was to think big and go small, and the smartest solution was hyperconvergence. Virtualizing aging servers and strategically moving systems and apps off-premises to the cloud, or a central data center, allowed us to provide high-availability compute and storage capacity to every one of our sites while removing performance bottlenecks and reducing costs.”
