Question: do you format new HP laptop and clean install windows/tools?
I'm considering a HP Elitebook, not sure of the number but a newest model. I'm leaning this direction because I have one through my work, along with a docking station at home, and dual monitors hooked up to that. My thought is when doing home stuff, I'd dock my personal laptop, and when doing work, dock the work laptop (I work remotely from home every day). I'd estimate I may swap the docked laptop maybe 5 times a week, so it shouldn't be any extra wear and tear than typical users.
I previously had a desktop at home, for gaming, but I don't do a whole lot of gaming, so I think a laptop and the GeForce Now streaming gaming service will work well enough.
With my work laptop, I believe they wiped the machine when it arrived from HP, and installed a OS image with various settings already in place, and most HP software removed.
Is that something you recommend for personal PC's too? Do you format and fresh-install Windows, and all the drivers? Is there any catches to that, such as function buttons/keys not working? Camera or trackpad driver issues? Is there any HP software or tools that you feel are required?

Re: Question: do you format new HP laptop and clean install windows/tools?
You have reached the wrong company for HP products (Laptops, Desktops, Printers)
For HP products, you may have to register and post in the HP Support Forums: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/

Re: Question: do you format new HP laptop and clean install windows/tools?
Hello, eventhough this isn't the right forum for your question, it is a common practice to wipe the machine, install a "regular" windows and then just download an application from hp called HP Support Assistant.
You launch it, and it'll scan the required drivers and automatically downloads them and installs them.
