Add SCSI hard drive to HP SW b3000 NAS

This might be a really simple question but I just want a few steps on what I have to do in order to add an extra hard drive into our NAS base unit that has 14 bays. 3 of them are available. I know i have to have the identical hard drive type as the others. I just want to know what I have to do in order to add hard drives to the NAS and add them to the RAID. Do I go into the RAID utility and add them? What are the basic detailed steps on what I have to get this done. I tried manuals but they didn't have anything about this.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Re: Add SCSI hard drive to HP SW b3000 NAS

1)hot add the drives one at a time. I would wait a couple minutes between each disk insertion.
2) Run the ACU (Array config Utility).
you now have two choices expand a existing array/logical (to keep the same drive letter) or create a new array/logical (new driver letter to system)
a) to keep the same drive letter:
You can expand an array by add the Disks to the Array. Then you can (i believe)only expand the last logical drive on that array. Then you go to windows and use Diskpart to extend the Partition.
