Re: DL380 G5 with P400 - RAID-1
please try to configure raid0+1 with 2 disks
then after mirror created hot remove one member and check if datas on remaining disks are still available, if yes you are created a true raid 1 configuration
is it clear ?

Re: DL380 G5 with P400 - RAID-1
Here are Oracle├в s recommendations for RAID storage:
You can see they says Avoid RAID 1+0 where the Redo and Archive logs are there.
RAID DatabaseFile RedoLog ArchiveLog
0 OK Avoid Avoid
1 OK Best Best
1+0 Best Avoid Avoid
So What do you say about this?

Re: DL380 G5 with P400 - RAID-1
I say that you make no attempt to understand that is not a technical problem - just a small terminology problem with the SmartArray software as I have written in my first response. Have a nice day.

Re: DL380 G5 with P400 - RAID-1
please check documentation page 82
the note say:
when there are only 2 physical drives in the array, this fault tolerance method os often referred to a RAID 1.
