iSCSIManager: Failed to fin host Volume for iSCSI LUN

Hello,

I'm getting multiple application event log entries as follows:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: All-in-One Storage Manager (Server)
Event Category: None
Event ID: 0
Date: 4/28/2008
Time: 2:10:25 PM
User: N/A
Computer: HERCULES
Description:
iSCSIManager: Failed to find host Volume for iSCSI LUN: \\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy92\Plutus\ExchStore.vhd

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Does anyone know what these mean and how to stop them?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Re: iSCSIManager: Failed to fin host Volume for iSCSI LUN

I have not. I'm running Backup Exec on the same box and when Exchange backups are performed, it creates a snapshot then deletes it, I think. I've been ignoring them.

Re: iSCSIManager: Failed to fin host Volume for iSCSI LUN

I have the same problem. According to HP there is an HP StorageWorks All-in-One Storage System Service Release update that will fix the problem. The download is 1.13 gig. I am going to run it and see if it fixes my issue.I am hoping for the best :)

Please let me know if it resolves the issue. I have been ignoring this for some time now. Couldn't find an answer anywhere.

Does any of you guys have Nic Teaming enabled on the AIO Storage System.

Re: iSCSIManager: Failed to fin host Volume for iSCSI LUN

Yea it was an absolute pain to get going.

There is an HP Tech bulletin somewhere about it.

You download a file from them, boot off a dos boot disk, and enable the teaming in the bios of the nic.

One of the nics is set up to be used for management and network traffic and keeps hp teaming from working.

Call support and they can get you the software.

Re: iSCSIManager: Failed to fin host Volume for iSCSI LUN

Found that iSCSI Software Target was used separately to create VHD files and present to iSCSI initiators. To get rid of the error message in Application logs, one should use All In One Storage Manager to create iSCSI LUNs and map it to iSCSI Initiator Host.
