NAS9000s and Registry editing / MBSA etc

Dear all,
I have 2 clustered NAS9000s serving SMB and NFS shares. I notice that I am getting anonymous connections from machines on campus, that throw an error in the event log. Is there any way to prevent these, by editing registry entries/ security policy as ypou would do with a normal Windows Server?
Or is it inadvisable to start messing about with such things and treat the servers as applicances.
I'm not in the machine room at present but I can post the exact errors that are showing up.
Many thanks for your help/advice in advance
regards
Jonathan

Re: NAS9000s and Registry editing / MBSA etc

Please post the error. I assume this is an error in the System log, and not an informational type of error, right?

You can do the same with GPOs on NAS as you can do with a normal Windows Server. As far as Registry entries, I'd be cautious here and only make edits when directed by HP or Microsoft, such as specified in a HP Customer Advisory (CA) or Microsoft hot fix.
