1/8 Autoloader 1760 SAS and tapes without barcode labels

I have one 1/8 Autoloader 1760 SAS drive, attached to DL380 G5, where I have installed Data Protector Express 4.00.
I used standard labels for the tapes (wich are in the box with tapes) and manually wrote days of the week in each tape. In the user guide is explained that this also work, but "barcode labels speed up the inventory time".
It's work indeed, but from time to time (approximately one time on week) the backup fails with message from data protector that the media is invalid or invalid barcode. And all scheduled tasks stops. This is happens with random tapes. The Autoloader device and the tapes are almost new, only 1 month works and recommended cleaning is unnecessary, I think.
If any body have had some kind of problem with tapes without barcode labels?

Upgrade to latest firmware version also make sure barcodes are compatible.

Latest autoloader firmware is 2.30

The firmware is the newest.
I don't like to use barcodes.
Simply to use manual typed labels for the tapes

Re: 1/8 Autoloader 1760 SAS and tapes without barcode labels

Hmh, Pablo, I lost my license after upgrade to 4.0 with SP1. And i'm going to install older version. May be this is, because actually the version of the DP Express SSE proved is 3.5. After that DP is upgraded with additional license to DP Express 4.0 (BB117BT).I tried to install DP Express SSE 4.0 SP1, but after installation the software tell me,that I have not license for this version, my license is for 3.5.

License for 3.5 will not work on 4.0
