1/9 Tape Autoloader Lubrication

My HP Surestore 1/9 Tape Autoloader is beginning to make some strange noises when the transport cycles. I suspect it needs some lubrication. What grease would be compatible within this unit? I hesitate to use a machine oil as I'm not sure how that would interact with the DLT drive as certain greases can out-gas some rather interesting things. What lubricant should I apply to the assorted worm gears within this unit?
