autoloader 1/8, Data Protector Express 4.0 sp1

Hello, I am currently trying to setup a backup job and am having trouble pointing the correct tape/media to the correct job.

Using the autoloader 1/8
Data Protector Express 4.00 SP1
Windows Server 2003

Trying to setup the following job...
1 full backup of all servers each day for Mon - Sat.
Each day I would like the back up to use a new tape, then overwrite that tape the following week.

As of now, when I try to make a backup job it grabs a random tape and overwrites it, which gives me no previous back up.

Thank you for your time.

Re: autoloader 1/8, Data Protector Express 4.0 sp1

Erase all medias first then create your backup job with run repeatedly and Custom rotation.
uncheck yearly, mothnly and weekly backups.
Press day botton and change this to full backup
Change to 6 tape sets
press the botton sat so you enable saturdays

Data Protector Express is unable to find usable media. Please insert media into the loader or stand alone device which is compatible with the job options. If this is a restore or verify job, make sure that the versions you selected reside on the media available to the device or autoloader.

did not work...

I deleted all other jobs and medias. I then made the backup job you described but instead of going Mon - Sat, I went Mon + Wed - Sat with a 5 set rotation instead of 6. I made two seperate biweekly jobs for Tuesdays, for offsite, using 1 set rotations.

I assigned 5 barcodes to the normal daily backup job, and 1 barcode each for the Tuesday's jobs.

I am still getting the insert valid media error, but it does get to 99%. I am using 800GB tapes and the job is only 589GB.

see attached job status image.
