What will happen if you remove the power from the tape array?

The tape drive will no longer be accessible.

You should unload the tape from the drive before power off.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Like Torsten said, you ideally should unload any tapes in the TA5300 before removing power.  It's also wise to power off the TA5300 via its power button before killing the circuit in the electric panel.

After power is restored, you should run an "ioscan -fnC tape" to make sure the server still sees the tape drive.
