Can't Get HPE Tape Tools to see LTO5
I have an EH957B HP LTO5 Ultrium 3000 connected to my PC via an HP p420 smart array controller. I can see the tape drive within device manager but not within the HPE Library and Tape Tools software itself. All the drivers seem to be up to date so what am I missing here?
Thanks!

Re: Can't Get HPE Tape Tools to see LTO5
Make Sure latest L&TT tools beings used (version 4.26)
Select the Scan mode and I/O mode.
select Hardware scan at Scan Mode
Select NT Miniport at I/O Mode
If LTO 5 Drive Ethernet port connected to Network then select option Ethernet at I/O scan Mode and check for any positive impact .
I am an HPE Employee

Re: Can't Get HPE Tape Tools to see LTO5
so I ran HPE tape tools as administrator as suggested. Sometimes I can see the tape deck & sometimes I can't (it seems to think its a CD ROM at the moment so won't support it).
I'm using a HPE P420 controller which I'm trying to get to work within my Windows 8 operating system, when I look for drivers I can't seem to find any for Windows 8, just Windows Server, could this be an issue perhaps? Do I need to get a SAS controller that specifically works with Windows 8 or should my P420 card be compatable?
Thanks for your help on this.

i havent used it with windows8 but have with windows7 no problem
