D2D 130 Virtual tape size

Hi
I have a HP D2D130 with integrated Ultrium 920 SAS drive.
In the virtual autoloader I can set tape sizes up to 800Gb.
However in a virtual tape drive, the size is only 200Gb, and I cannot seem to edit. Only Barcode is available for edit.
However if I insert a 400/800gb physical tape and copy to the virtual tape drive it CAN go to 400Gb.
How do I set the virtual tape drive to always use 400gb cartridges?
I use Backup Exec 12.5 if that has to do with anything.

Re: D2D 130 Virtual tape size

Hi, if the virtual cartridge/slot has already information in it, you can't resize the capacity.

From user guide:

To edit maximum size
The only time you can resize cartridges is when you first create an autoloader or add slots and they are
blank. Once the cartridges are made available to the backup application, it formats them ready for use
and they are no longer blank, even if you have not yet written data to them. Similarly, the erase function
on most backup applications does not return the cartridge to a completely blank state.
The Max Size defaults to 200 GB, but if the Used Size is Blank, you can edit this value. The maximum
value allowed is 800 GB.

Re: D2D 130 Virtual tape size

Hi Kenneth:

Please check the firmware on the HP D2D130. Support for larger LTO-3 tape cartridges was on an updated firmware version. Kn7B-001.559 (11 Feb 2008) is the latest firmware version.

Here is a link to the latest firmware.
