Re: D7 50 4D

From user manual:

D7:

Firmware upgrade error

This error can occur is an attempt is made
to upgrade a drive with the wrong
personality or version for that drive.
Ensure that the correct drive firmware is
being used to update the drive.
If the correct drive firmware is being
used, update the Library firmware.
Power cycle the device and attempt the
operation again.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: D7 50 4D

This MSL2024 was originally a LTO4 tape drive.  I purchased the upgrade kit to make it an LTO6.  How do I know what firmware to upgrade too?  The LTO4 drive was replaced with an HP Ultrium 6250 Drive Upgrade Kit.

Re: D7 50 4D

Library firmware is always the same, no matter what drive is installed.

It should be version 6.50.

Hope this helps!

Re: D7 50 4D

Okay.  Thank you for that!  It currently reads:

Currently Installed Library firmware:  4.70

Drive Firmware revision 354W

Do I need to update both?  If so, can it be done as a one off or do I have to do it incrementally?

Re: D7 50 4D

4.70 is from year 2009, update directly to the newest.

for the drive use LTO_6250_35JW_MSL-G3-Series.frm

Hope this helps!

Hi Torsten-

Thank you very much for that information.  Would you be able to kindly supply me the direct link(s) to get those files?

I'm a bit of a newbie at this......
