DAT 160 in SBS shows "write protected" when it's not

This is a brand new internal USB DAT 160 unit in Windows SBS. In device manager the tape media shows as "write protected = false".

In Windows server management the tape shows as read only and when I try to drag it into free media it tells me the tape is write protected.

I used Windows to update the driver and it downloaded a new driver from Windows updates. The media still shows as "unknown" in the media pool.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: DAT 160 in SBS shows "write protected" when it's not

I've installed the latest HP drivers downloaded from the HP site but still cannot transfer the media to my Backup library. Any ideas? Is this an SBS 2003 problem or a HP problem?

It's working! SBS downloaded and installed SP2 and after the restart everything seems OK.

Thanks for all your help.
