DAT 160 USB fails to read / write DAT 72 Tapes
Since some weeks my Storageworks DAT160 USB fails to read or write from/to DAT72 tapes.
Till then there was no problem doing this; since then I can only use DAT160 tapes which run without any problem.
I have tried using new HP tapes, upgraded firmware; L&TT reports the drive needs to be cleaned, and states that I have used wrong media. Running a cleaning-tape (several times) has no influence on the problem.
The device is 1,5 years of age; it has been used 2-3 times per week for backups taking 10-15 minutes.

Re: DAT 160 USB fails to read / write DAT 72 Tapes
Hi Eric:
Did you first try to do a complete erase of the DAT72 tape cartridge before using the tape cartridge for backups on your DAT160 tape drive?

Re: DAT 160 USB fails to read / write DAT 72 Tapes
I tried erasing the tape prior to using it, tried new tapes (2 different brands), no effect.
