DAT 24 USB (C1537A) hardware compression
hi,
i've discovered that my DAT 24 USB does NO hardware compression with linux. how can i enable hardwarecompression? i've tried:
mt -f /dev/st1 compression 1
without any success.

your drive will do self compression. The expected ratio is 2:1, however, file types and other factors can prevent the drive from doing this ratio.
Compression should be unselected in back up software, this often confuses drives...

Hi i have the same problem with windows 2003, i have checked my software and software compression is off. Where to find the dip switch on the usb model. I got only 12 gig and i backup word, excel, emails documents... Please help we talk about the usb model not the internal one.
