DAT320 USB Read I/O Device Failure
L&TT Device Performance test fails on newly installed tape drive. Prior tests run on USB1.1 connection passed, but performance severely impaired. Upgraded/resolved USB HBA to enable USB2.0 external connection, but Installation Test failed on reading data. Also performed a 1GB backup using Data Protector Express 4.0 with read failure after first few MBs.

Re: DAT320 USB Read I/O Device Failure
DDS Drive Assessment Test failed, reporting:
Problems while reading which could be drive or tape related.
Some problems that were found that could be due to the test tape.
Please re-run the test using a different tape to locate the problem.
As we appear to be the first in South Africa to have one of these tape drives, it is no surprise that no DAT320 media are available in the country yet! (We call this 'bleedin-edge technology' because it hurts to be the first ones using it.)
