Data Protector 9.09 - Library MSL 4048 Cannot format LTO6 Tapes

Hi all,

We have just upgraded all of our LTO4 tapes to LTO6 tapes.
We have an HPE MSL 4048 Tape Library (firmware up to date) with a LTO6 Tape drive.

Successfully added to Data Protector 9, and also scan tapes normally. But when trying to format tapes we are getting an error.

We runned LT&T and no aparent error showed.

there is something wrong with the reported firmware.
for MSL4048 it is 9.60 (you have 9.40 and 8.90) , for MSL2024 7.10 see

Your LTO6 FW is the previous, current is 25MW.

However, something is really wrong.

Both libs report 48 slots (x + mailslots) and an identity of "MSL2024".

Contact HPE support and provide them a support ticket pulled from he lib controllers.
