Data Protector Express Catalog on network drive

Looking to move the catalog to a network drive. However, in the dpconfig.ini file, when I specify databasePath=\\machinename\shared_folder\database_folder DP Express can't find the backup catalog. Same line specifying a local path works fine.

Documentation suggests locating the catalogue on a different machine, which makes sense. Would like to avoid uninstalling/reinstalling DP Express, and another thread suggested the catalog could be moved by modifying the dpconfig.ini file. Any suggestions?
