data protector express - filters / missing files
Hello,
data protector express 4.00-sp1 (build 43064)
I have a partition with about 560 GB of data. I've selected E:\ to be backup. After starting the backup job I have notice that in the status there was only 320 GB being backup. No errors.
I've made test - disabled all file sharing, made test recovery, compare what is missing.
After a long investigation I have found that Data Protector is ignoring the content a directory wich was called:
"e:\USER-BACKUP"
and also many other files in multiple directories.
the selection window in the job was showing it is empty. (see on attached image).
After renaming the drectory to
"e:\USER-BACKU"
the subdirectories re-appeared in data protector ! I am not using any filters in the job.
Is there any place where some global exclusion are defined ?

Re: data protector express - filters / missing files
the problem was there ... :
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToBackup
As I see Data Protector has probalby no interface to edit this list. I've setup a long time ago some exclusion via ntbackup ...
2 days of nightmare ..
