data protector express - moving the database

hi,
I have a question about data protector express and ultrium tapes.

I'm using an ultrium tape drive with data protector express installed on a windows XP PC and I'm going to format the PC and install windows server. how can I backup the database (catalog?) of my tape backups so that they will be available for recovery when I will reinstall DPE on the new OS? and what if the database is lost? will I still be able to retrieve the data on my tapes?

thank you

Re: data protector express - moving the database

Grab a blank tape a backup only the catalog, then install dpe on the new OS go to media and do a Restore Catalog job.

OR

Save the Data base located here

C:\Program Files\HP\Data Protector Express\database

Then Install dpe and replace the Data Base, I attached a document explaining how can you move the data base.

If the data base is lost then DPE wont know right away everything you have done so far in the software so you will need to import each media.
