Data Protector Express - Recover CD
Using Data Protector Express Single Server Edition V3.5 SP2. I can create a bootable Recovery CD using the software to create the .iso file.
This though fails to boot on a Fujitsu-Siemens Econel 100 S2 Server. The Caldera DR-DOS message appears but it then hangs when the DOS/4G Protected Mode message should appear.
A Recovery CD generated by the similar Tapeware software boots without a problem (although it then of course fails to identify the Data Protector tape as a disaster recory tape).
Anyone come across this and solved it ?

Re: Data Protector Express - Recover CD
Sorted this.
Just in case anyone else needs the answer to this: in the BIOS disable the SATA AHCI function which will leave the SATA mode in 'IDE Emulation' and the CD will then boot.

Re: Data Protector Express - Recover CD
Further update - disabling the AHCI does indeed allow the Rescue CD to boot but this isn't much good when the drive/s you're trying to restore were setup under AHCI !
So does anyone have any idea why the Data Protector Express Rescue CD fails to load at the DOS/4G Protected Mode stage and yet the Tapeware 7.0 Rescue CD boots up Ok ?
(trying the Tapeware CD and using the Data Protector tape doesn't work - it can't find the Boot track info from the tape)
