Data Protector Express SSE 3.10, no x64 support
I recently bought an HP Ultrium 920 LTO-3 drive (SAS). The drive included a copy of Data Protector Express Single Server Edition, v3.10 SP4.
I gave the drive and the software a try on a test system running Server 2008 x86 and was satisfied with the results.
However, the DPE SSE software will not install on Windows Server 2008 x64 - the installer errors out looking for an exe in a non-existant x86_64 directory.
Is there any place that I can download an x64 compatible version of the software for free? Current version, old version, I don't care - I just want something that will install and work.

Re: Data Protector Express SSE 3.10, no x64 support
It looks as though the various x64 Windows OSs are supported in Data Protector Express 4.0.
You can download a free evaluation copy of 4.0 from http://hp.com/go/dataprotectorexpress . If that works for you, there is also a link on that page to get a significantly reduced cost upgrade from your version to 4.0.

Re: Data Protector Express SSE 3.10, no x64 support
Hi,
Data Protector Express SSE 3.1 it's pretty old already. It was released like 2 yrs ago.
And it's not compatible with 64bits OS.
Call your reseller and ask them if they can get DPE 4.0 SP1 for you.
As DPE 3.1 SSE license key won't work on DPE 4.0 sp1.
