Directly writing on a HP DAT72 tape

Hi everybody from the HP forum.

I'm trying to do something but I don't know how to do it.

How can I directly write on the tape with a batch file (a good-old dos script)?

My tape drive is a usb one and I would like to do some backups without using any software. I want to develop my own tool.

I already know how to mount and eject the tape but I don't know how to write on it.

I there someone who already did that or who knows how to do that?
