DL380 G4, MSL2024 Libray and SAS

Have a DL380 G4 server running Windows 2003 Standard Edition. Connected to the Server is a MSL2024 with 2 448 Ultra160 SCSI drives. Use Data Protector 6.0 to backup with this library. My question is, I want to upgrade the MSL2024 to 2 1760 SAS drives, use a SC44Ge SAS controller and continue to use Data Protector as the backup software. I have confirmed with HP the the DL380 G4 will use the SAS card and the 1760's work with that SAS card. Will Data Protector reconize the SAS controller and 1760 drives and work?
