DPE 3.5SP2 on Novell OES 6.5 Hangs on restore

Backing approx 60GB of data on a 200GB HP Ultrium1 SCSI drive using DPE works fine. However when trying to restore a single folder approx 150MB the cpu utilization rises to 90% and just hangs, at which point the server needs to be physically restarted. I tried to restore a single 2MB file which works. I tried restoring that 150MB folder twice it has hung on me. Any ideas?
