drive broken: needs repair

Hello.

I have an MSL G3 Series model tape device. I started a backup and it stays in the Running phase, then when I cancel it, it gives the following error in the drive. What should I do?

HE: drive broken: needs repair
Code: F3 02

Open a Support Case, they will assist you and change the Drive if it is broken.

Power cycle the unit. Once it is back online. Run LTT Drive assessment test and check if the drive is able to complete the diags. If it does, then this must be an application related issue. If this fails, then we might have to replace the drive. If the unit is under warranty or contract. Please reach out to our call logging team and log a new case. If not, then you might have to buy a new drive.
