e1200-320 4Gb Fiber Channel Interface Card
I'm trying to decide if i need two 4GB FC cards for an MSL6060 with 4 LTO-4 drives, or if one is enough.
Is there any speed advantage in having 2 instead of one?
thanks,
Fran

Re: e1200-320 4Gb Fiber Channel Interface Card
MSL6060 Lib has got 2 FC HBA ports so you need same two for redundancy and performance too.

Connecting 2 Ultrium drives on the same channel is not recommended.

Re: e1200-320 4Gb Fiber Channel Interface Card
There is no NSR card with two 4G fc ports.
You will definitely want two NSRs, and even those, I believe will be a bottleneck for LTO-4. I'm pretty sure the bandwidth tops out at 230 MB/s (I get 215 tops writing to two drives). Search for lto-4 to find a few threads about this.
If this is not already bought, I'd recommend you look at the direct fibre msl4048, etc... libraries...
